Biggest fish at 27 inches was Ned Mayers

Just to show how awesome the carp fishing is here on the west slope and how good our fishermen and women are, the famed Carp Slam in Denver posted a total of 391 inches with 30 people last year and our CARPOCALYPSE event this year totaled 632 inches of carp with only 11 fishers. Different events, but we were excited about our results!

Rules and Tournament Info:
- Only standard fly rods, tippet class and flies allowed. No conventional gear or bait allowed.
- All catch and release! And all qualified fish must be hooked in the mouth; no snagging or foul hooking. We're all respectable fishermen here. Or at least we hope so.
- No chumming!
- Fish within 5 miles or 500, we don’t care so long as you’re back before being disqualified!
- Rules Meeting begins at 7 A.M. at Western Anglers. Coffee and snacks provided (included in registration fee).
- Fishing commences at 8 A.M. after Rules Meeting.
- Two photos are required for each fish. Carp are the only qualifying fish (Minimum qualifying length is 10 inches). The first photo is a grip and grin, or as best you can by yourself. The second photo must be taken with the fish lying flat with the official CARPOCALYPSE ruler clearly seen for measurement.
- Each fish must be recorded by the angler on an official CARPOCALYPSE score card that will be provided to you at the Rules Meeting.
- The top prize is total inches. The person with the most inches of carp on this day, wins top prize.
- Independent judges will determine what photos deem a qualified fish, SO MAKE SURE YOU TAKE GOOD PHOTOS AND RECORD PROPERLY!
- Anglers must supply their own camera device. Be sure to have fresh batteries and backups!
- Scoring will be determined by total points. 1 inch = 1 point.
- Fishing ends at 5 P.M. (ANGLERS NOT BACK AT WESTERN ANGLERS ARE DQ'D!).
- Wading only. No boats.
- VERY IMPORTANT: The first fish caught needs to be photographed clearly with TIME plus length (official ruler) for tie breaker of the Most Inches category.
- Net your own fish.
- Dinner (included in Registration fee) and Award Ceremony will begin thereafter at the Elks Lodge (behind Naggy McGee's) at 6 P.M.
- Prizes, awards, and giveaways will be given out once all angler scorecards and photos have been recorded.
- Whiners and cheaters stay at home.
- All anglers subject to HGH testing.
Awards:
